Adult Fundamentals bjj

Adult Fundamentals BJJ incorporates fundamental Jiu Jitsu movements with conditioning.  Fundamentals class constructs the correct foundation of skills to build off of.  This program builds strength and flexibility as well as quality technique.   We pride ourselves on having an environment that is truly family-friendly, where people develop a deep trust for one another.  Many members of our team consider our gym their 2nd home and forge friendships that will last a lifetime.

Everyone knows stress is a killer, Jiu Jitsu has been described as a meditation in movement.  Jiu Jitsu annihilates stress!  With less stress you'll live longer and live better.

BJJ will help you get in the best shape of your life and you wont even realize it because you're having so much fun!

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu has been proven to be the most effective martial arts system for self defense which is why the US military trains their soldiers BJJ.

There are few things like Jiu Jitsu that gives you the bond with your teams like physical training together.  What we do requires that we trust each other and encourage each other.

What is more fun than grappling with your friends and training to become a legit ninja assassin! 

What to expect on your first day:

 

  • Plan to arrive 10-15 min before class starts to meet the instructors and for orientation

  • Wear something comfortable to be active in, like a T-shirt and work-out shorts.  We recommend wearing compression shorts (like bike shorts) underneath outer shorts or sweatpants. No shoes are required; we train barefoot.

  • We recommend T shirts and shorts with with full coverage, as clothing often shifts and moves during training.

  • Class will begin by students lining up by rank.  Since it's your first day, you'll line up with the begining students in the back line.

  • We'll go through some warm ups that practice Jiu Jitsu movements, then we'll practice some specific techniques with a partner.  Then, you'll have an oppotunity to try out these moves during sparring. 

  • During class, there will be designated water breaks.  If you need a break in-between, let the intructor know before leaving the mat.

  • It's improtant to know that here all your training partners will be interested in helping you.  Everyone remembers their first day and will want to help make yours a positive experience.  No one here will try to embarrass you, beat you up, or make you feel like a newbie.  We commend you for starting your journey and trying out something new and challenging.  We are all here to help.

  • To conclude class, we will line up again by rank and bow, to acknowledge and thank eachother for the oppotunity to continue getting better.

  • After class, you'll have a chance to talk to the instructors, ask questions about the program, and talk about how we can help you meet your personal goals.
